This is a super way to get even more greens into your diet! Crispy, delicious, crunchy and cheesy! Raw, Vegan, Enzyme Rich and 100% nutrient dense. Your body will love these!!
These are worth every minute spent making them- they are so delicious that you won’t even realize the great nourishment you are providing to your body!!!
2 bunches of kale – I like the lacinato kale or fresh from my garden
1 1/3 cups of raw cashews soaked for 2 hours (enough water to cover the cashews)
2/3 cups water
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons chickpea or sweet/light miso paste
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast (this is the cheesy flavor)
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp sea or Himalayan salt
½ tsp yacon syrup
½ tsp raw apple cider vinegar
Remove kale from stems (use fingers and just slide along the spine to remove leaves), rinse and place in mixing bowl. Keep the leaves in big pieces.
Place rinsed cashews, water and the rest of the ingredients in a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth. If too think add 1 tsp of water but don’t over do it- you want it to stick to the leaves)
Pour cheesy mixture over kale and massage it into the kale leaves.
Spread over 2 mesh dehydrator screens. Set at 110°. Check about 5 hours – 7 hours later. Make sure they are crisp and not soggy (check middle bits).
ENJOY!!!! They will keep crisp for about a month if they last that long!! If they need to be crisped up- place them back in the dehydrator!
Where to buy ingredients:
Local health food store

The only problem with these kale chips is that you eat them all quickly- boo hoo!!! Use the remaining bits and put them in a sald or on top of your avocado!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVA-A0RqkhM&feature=share Sent to me by one of my clients- I guess this is what I sound like- actually many phrases are the same- too funny! Love the green drink as this is usually what accompanies me to Saturday morning classes to sip on while teaching!!
Ewwh, that’s gross, how can you eat a teaspoon of pure organic coconut oil before every meal?? Well, there are many many reasons and I will list but just a few:
Coconut Oil
1 tsp before each meal will help the food to pass through the digestive track quicker, stopping the conversion of food to fat, as well as stimulate the thyroid, increase your metabolism and make you burn stored fat as your sleep.
Do this every day for 30 days and this is what you might find. Don’t stop after 30 days because why would you want these benefits to end? 1
High blood pressure-gone
Circulation problems-vanish
Mood swings-gone
Depression-lifted
Constipation-cured
Arthritis pain, reduced or eliminated
Cancer remission
Cholesterol-normalized
Acid reflux, heart burn diminished or gone forever
Overweight – lose weight
Here is a quick video of a woman who helped her husband with Alzheimer’s, simply by adding coconut oil to his diet!
Remember, that disease just doesn’t show up in your body. It is the result of the diet that you are consuming today, the lifestyle that you are living. By continuing to upgrade your diet, you are taking charge of the direction of your health!! How powerful is this!
By replacing those nasty fats in processed goods, chips etc and reducing or eliminating the use of cooked fats you can make a considerable contribution to your health!
Consuming fats from coconuts, avocadoes, olives can help a person lose weight because these fats contain lipase enzymes which allow body fat to be burned. Lipase enzyme, from raw plant fats and their oils help metabolize cooked fat deposits which have stagnated and accumulated throughout the body. 2
How to incorporate organic pure (get dark glass or container) coconut oil into your diet:
Take a tsp before each meal or a tbsp in the morning and night
add it to your homemade salad dressing (avoid microwave if need to melt)
Mix it in with your smoothies/blender drinks
Stir in some with your hot oatmeal (not processed)
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do” (Proverbs 4:23 NLT)

Watch this great video from a pharmaceutical executive! Confessions
On March 1 2012, ten thousand Baby Boomers will turn 65 years old.
Ten thousand more will turn 65 the next day. And the day after that… and the day after that…
And every day for the next 18 years.
This will be – by far – the largest increase in “retirement age” citizens in history.
Virtually every one of these nearly 65.7 MILLION adults need or will need methods/items to keep them healthy because according to a Harvard study, nearly 70% of these Boomers “expect to live into their eighties and beyond.”
And “to live” means to whoop it up not be hooked up to a machine or be taking 15 plus pills a day!
We have been lead to believe that we MUST take drugs either prescription drugs or over the counter drugs to cure, prevent or treat illness (what happened to having prunes when you’re constipated??)
The cause of virtually all disease is that you have:
1) Too many toxins in your body
2) Nutritional deficiencies
3) Exposure to electromagnetic chaos
4) Unmanaged Stress
If these are out of balance you will either catch something and succumb to it or you will develop something in your body. So in order to PREVENT disease, you must manage these 4 points.
If the CAUSE of all disease is too many toxins, nutritional deficiencies, electromagnetic chaos, and unmanaged stress, then IF you did not have toxins in your body, if you did not have nutritional deficiencies, if you did not have exposure to electromagnetic chaos, and if you did not have stress, then you CANNOT have disease!
Does this make sense? Can you see WHY drugs are not the answer! Drugs and surgery simply address symptoms, not the CAUSE of ILLNESS and DISEASE. Medical doctors treat symptoms not the WHOLE person. Drugs simply suppress symptoms by causing the body to do UNNATURAL things- drugs DO NOT create normalcy or balance in the body. Drugs create a state of IMBALANCE.
Drugs are Patented- selling drugs makes money. Drug companies have to make a PROFIT!
Food*, on the other hand, cannot be Patented and therefore does not make Drug Companies money. Exercise cannot be patented. Nature cannot be patented. Natural Cures do not make money for the Big Pharma.
I have no problem with people making money but NOT at the expense of misleading people to believe that DRUGS PREVENT, TREAT and CURE disease. Again- prunes will fix constipation, celery will lower blood pressure, cacao will alleviate depression, a walk in nature will calm the mind/reduce anxiety……I could go on for the next week!
Let’s take the time to listen to our bodies, treat them like GOLD! Feed them with nutritionally dense foods (enough of the processed stuff), find ways to manage your stress and decrease your electromagnetic chaos, do cleanses (reputable ones that care about your health not your wallet) and Move Your Body!
There is a place for medicine, but it’s not the only place.
“I have become convinced that the most overlooked tool in our medical arsenal is harnessing the body’s own ability to health through nutritional excellence”
– Dr. Mehmet Oz
When diet is wrong medicine is of no use.
When diet is correct medicine is of no need.
– Ancient Ayurvedic Proverb
It is a tragic mistake for you to give up your responsibility for your day to day health!
The body heals itself; the physician is only nature’s assistant- -Hippocrates
*By food, I mean non GMO, organic, REAL, not processed food.

Living Vibrantly with Raw Goodness – Tanya Morrison- available soon at www.moveyourbody.ca
2 cups cooked black beans (made fresh or canned (drain)
3 tbsp black or white chia seeds
¼ cup cooked quinoa (any colour)
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds, chopped
2 tbsp walnuts, chopped (optional, but very tasty- can presoak and dehydrate to release the enzyme inhibitors)
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin powder
¼ tsp cayenne powder
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 ½ tbsp yacon syrup (sweetener- could use real maple syrup or local honey)
Salt to taste
Heat oil over low to medium heat and add garlic, onion and bell pepper
Cook until soft (about 5 minutes) removed from heat
Mix in remaining ingredients to a consistency that you like
Place in refrigerator, covered for 30 minutes to allow chia seeds to swell and absorb the excess moisture.
Form the mixture into 8-10 small patties (sliders) and either freeze for later or cook in a frying pan with coconut oil over low heat about 5 minutes per side. Or, place in oven on broil (or toaster oven) for about 5-8 minutes.
Serve with Avocados, tomatoes and coleslaw or a great green salad and guacamole.
Please use local and organic ingredients where possible. I use Upayanaturals for the chia seeds, raw pumpkin seeds, raw walnuts, yacon syrup, nutritional yeast, coconut oil. Ingredients may also be available at your local health food store.
Information about some of these ingredients can be found here
Pressed for time, lunches just another chore for the day! I used to dread making school lunches but decided to change my thoughts to how wonderful it is that I can provide healthy, delicious and nutritious lunches for my kids and now make them with love and positive energy (most days!!!
Keep it simple: 2 fruits, 2 vegetables, water, a homemade goodie and a main entree. Buy what they love and what’s in season.
Great entrees:
Vegetarian Chili or add some ground meat to it. Add some cheese and tortilla chips- super yummy lunch
Pancakes can be great in lunches- make them with whole wheat or spelt flour, put fruit and ground up flax in them and serve with a side of local maple syrup.
Egg McMuffin- wrap it in tinfoil and then put it in a plastic bag- this will keep it warm and tasty!
Boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, beans, left overs from dinner the night before.
I keep saying this, but as much as you can start to buy organic food. If you can grow food from organic seeds in your own garden that is the best, support your local farmer, fabulous: buy organic at the store great! Slowly switch your products and your health will improve.

Marcia has been a client of mine since 2006. In 2008, she was diagnosed with MS. Taking the traditional medical route of medications to begin with however, her signs and symptoms started to get worse and so she made the decision to abandon all drugs and instead adopted a raw-living diet. We continued our exercise sessions and I saw a noticable improvement in her balance, flexibility and coordination months after she discontinued the perscriptions and made incredible changes to her lifestyle!
